Paint Annapolis 2013 is a juried competition, now in its 12th year, established by the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association (MAPAPA) and organized by Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts (MHCA), to promote the art of plein air painting and expose new audiences to this painting style.
A juror will select thirty (30) artists to compete in the three‐day painting competition (June 26 – 28) around historic Annapolis. The juror will select 5 alternates (in order), in the event that any of the selected artists cannot participate. Juried artists paint within designated boundaries during these three days and turn in two completed, framed, and ready‐to‐hang artworks to Maryland Hall on Friday, June 28 between 5 and 6 pm. Work must be done during the three days “en plein air” without the assistance of photographs. The maximum framed size limit is 36”x 42.”
