Come spend two days on the scenic Delaware River in Pennsylvania at the first annual, Zane Grey Plein Air Event, August 18–19, 2018, and will take place on the grounds of Zane Grey’s family home (on the US National Register of Historic Places). Today the National Park Service maintains the two-story, clapboard farmhouse as the Zane Grey Museum and they have graciously invited us to paint in the natural surroundings that held a lifelong inspiration for Zane and his wife Dolly's varied body of work: novels, art and films, most notably, “Riders of the Purple Sage.”

You can have a solo exhibit at the National Wildlife Visitor Center!  They gave me January 2019 because I accepted the terms of the contract.  Art unseen!  It is a low traffic facility but very lovely.

Each month, the Hollingsworth Gallery at the National Wildlife Visitor Center in Laurel, MD, features a different artist.  The artist for May is enjoying a third time exhibiting, so there does not seem to be a limit on repeats.  The show space is a grey carpeted wall with six 63x69" display areas with track lighting available.

The limitation is that "All artwork shall feature wildlife, nature, and/or environmental conservation issues.  Subject matter should include endangered, threatened, or native species (to North America), wetlands, oceans, woodlands, prairies, or other habitats...."  They specifically disinclude "domestic animals, buildings and landscapes that do not support the mission of the Refuge System," and religious or political material.  Of course they do want the work framed and ready for hanging/display.

To arrange an exhibit contact Mary Ann Hartnett at 2ufrommah@gmail.com .
